Pulau Payar Marine Park, Langkawi

Pulau Payar Marine Park has located about 30 km from the main island of Langkawi and is one of the most popular destinations for divers and snorkellers in Malaysia. This is the perfect place for experienced divers and novices who want to give it a try.

At Pulau Payar Marine Park, you can observe the natural habitat of various species of fish and baby sharks and feed them. This island is made up of four smaller islands, all of which are uninhabited and closely monitored to prevent disturbance of the virgin marine life. The stunning island is also surrounded by jade-green rainforests, which form a natural boundary that is not accessible to all tourists but can only be entered with a special permit from the authorities.

Access to the pristine Pulau Payar Marine Park is only available as part of tour packages affiliated with the Kedah Department of Fisheries to promote marine life conservation and raise awareness against coral bleaching and destruction.
