Melaka, Kuala Lampur, Malaysia
Melaka was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008. It is a culturally rich city that also has a number of historical sites to offer. There is also a small river running through the city, which gives it a quiet, peaceful aura.
Melaka is a city that, apart from its cultural attractions, also boasts a lot of good food. From the famous Christ Church to the lively night markets, there is plenty to do in the city for every kind of traveler.
Langkawi, the jewel of Kedah, owes its name to the red-backed eagle that dominates the skies above the island. Legend has it that the 'Lang' comes from the Malay word 'helang', meaning eagle, and the 'Kawi' is from the word for marble. The cluster of eagles flying high in the sky and a land full of marble lend some credence to this legend.
